Registered Manager (Permanent) – Residential Childcare – full training provided.

We value relationships in our organisation, and we are looking for a leader with a proven ability to build strong attachments with children. To support this, we train all staff to Level 1 and 2 in Dyadic Developmental Psychotherapy, have developed our own DDP practitioner and recently became a DDP accredited organisation.
Are you able to:
- Take a professional lead in transforming the lives of our children
- Operate within the spirit and framework of the Children Act 1989 and fully comply with the professional standards outlined for residential care in the Care Standards Act 2000, Children’s Homes Regulations 2015 and current and future guidance and regulation
- Lead a dedicated staff team to provide the highest quality of care, ensuring this exceeds the needs of children and meets their highly complex, individual needs
- Take responsibility for care planning for young people; supervision of staff; monitoring and developing the care practice within the home; business administration tasks and completing statutory reports as required by Ofsted.
- Develop strong professional links with our other RM’s, school leadership team and a range of external professionals
- Ensure the provision of a warm, nurturing and therapeutic environment for young people who have significant early years trauma and attachment needs
- Act as an appropriate adult role model for children and other staff
- Be responsible for the health, safety and welfare of self, all employees, service users and members of the public in relation to the Home and ensure compliance with Health and Safety legislation and regulations.
- Undertake risk assessments in relation to people, premises and equipment to identify any risk factors and take any necessary/appropriate remedial action required.
- Be responsible for budgetary/financial control in relation to residential care in your Home.
- Ensure safeguarding children is at the centre of your practice
- Be part of an on-call rota at weekends and Bank Holidays
- Work a 40-hour week which may include some evening and weekend cover to meet the needs of the home and the children in our care

Skills and Attributes:
- Diploma Level 3 or 4 in Residential Childcare is essential
- Diploma Level 5 in Leadership and Management in Residential Childcare would be desirable but not essential.
- Previous recent experience of working in residential childcare is essential
- Previous managerial experience in a similar environment, including the supervision of staff working in a care role is required
- Strong working knowledge of regulatory standards
