To sup­port this, we train all staff to Lev­el 1 and 2 in Dyadic Devel­op­men­tal Psy­chother­a­py, have devel­oped our own DDP prac­ti­tion­er and recent­ly became a DDP accred­it­ed organ­i­sa­tion.

Are you able to:

  • Take a pro­fes­sion­al lead in trans­form­ing the lives of our chil­dren
  • Oper­ate with­in the spir­it and frame­work of the Chil­dren Act 1989 and ful­ly com­ply with the pro­fes­sion­al stan­dards out­lined for res­i­den­tial care in the Care Stan­dards Act 2000, Children’s Homes Reg­u­la­tions 2015 and cur­rent and future guid­ance and reg­u­la­tion
  • Lead a ded­i­cat­ed staff team to pro­vide the high­est qual­i­ty of care, ensur­ing this exceeds the needs of chil­dren and meets their high­ly com­plex, indi­vid­ual needs
  • Take respon­si­bil­i­ty for care plan­ning for young peo­ple; super­vi­sion of staff; mon­i­tor­ing and devel­op­ing the care prac­tice with­in the home; busi­ness admin­is­tra­tion tasks and com­plet­ing statu­to­ry reports as required by Ofst­ed.
  • Devel­op strong pro­fes­sion­al links with our oth­er RM’s, school lead­er­ship team and a range of exter­nal pro­fes­sion­als
  • Ensure the pro­vi­sion of a warm, nur­tur­ing and ther­a­peu­tic envi­ron­ment for young peo­ple who have sig­nif­i­cant ear­ly years trau­ma and attach­ment needs
  • Act as an appro­pri­ate adult role mod­el for chil­dren and oth­er staff
  • Be respon­si­ble for the health, safe­ty and wel­fare of self, all employ­ees, ser­vice users and mem­bers of the pub­lic in rela­tion to the Home and ensure com­pli­ance with Health and Safe­ty leg­is­la­tion and reg­u­la­tions.
  • Under­take risk assess­ments in rela­tion to peo­ple, premis­es and equip­ment to iden­ti­fy any risk fac­tors and take any necessary/appropriate reme­di­al action required.
  • Be respon­si­ble for budgetary/financial con­trol in rela­tion to res­i­den­tial care in your Home.
  • Ensure safe­guard­ing chil­dren is at the cen­tre of your prac­tice
  • Be part of an on-call rota at week­ends and Bank Hol­i­days
  • Work a 40-hour week which may include some evening and week­end cov­er to meet the needs of the home and the chil­dren in our care

Skills and Attrib­ut­es:

  • Diplo­ma Lev­el 3 or 4 in Res­i­den­tial Child­care is essen­tial
  • Diplo­ma Lev­el 5 in Lead­er­ship and Man­age­ment in Res­i­den­tial Child­care would be desir­able but not essen­tial.
  • Pre­vi­ous recent expe­ri­ence of work­ing in res­i­den­tial child­care is essen­tial
  • Pre­vi­ous man­age­r­i­al expe­ri­ence in a sim­i­lar envi­ron­ment, includ­ing the super­vi­sion of staff work­ing in a care role is required
  • Strong work­ing knowl­edge of reg­u­la­to­ry stan­dards
